Era-net Transport III (ENTIII) has been running for over a year now. ENT had initially started back in 2004, went through 2 growth phases, and in November 2012 ENTIII was kicked-off. This new phase will be running until October 2015.
Since its launch, the network of collaborating countries/regions has now expanded to now 23 countries/regions. In ENTIII Rijkswaterstaat, the Netherlands, took over the coordinator ship from TÜV, Germany.
ENTIII has huge ambitions: the launch of 2 large flagship calls and 4 smaller sized transnational funding initiatives. The 1st flagship call, Future Travelling, was successfully launched in April 2013, and had its submission deadline on the 4th November 2013. The submitted proposals are currently under evaluation. The 2nd flagship call will be launched in spring 2015.
For the smaller sized transnational funding initiatives, various topics have been identified as highly interesting transnational collaboration opportunities. These are currently being worked out in position papers and interests and potential budgets are being investigated. First new Action Groups for working out details and launching initiatives have been started at the beginning of 2014.
Other achievements of a year of ENTIII are the re-design and re-construction of the website, the development of a new branding and design for ENTIII and the start of constructing a supportive database on national transport RDI programmes and results: the ENT Platform. There are still many challenges ahead, but the future for ENTIII looks bright. In spring 2014 ENTIII will expose itself through evaluation. We hope to collect tips for further improvement and increased efficiency of operation and processes. But of course, if you have any tips or recommendations for us right now, you are most welcome to share them.
