Scoping Workshop ‘SUSTAINABLE LOGISTICS AND SUPPLY CHAIN ENGINEERING’
On Thursday 5 and Friday 6 June 2014 ENT organised a Scoping Workshop ‘Sustainable Logistics and Supply Chain Engineering' at Madurodam in The Hague, The Netherlands. 27 Programme managers and owners from 12 countries/regions attended. The workshop built on a position paper that was circulated to the participants prior to the workshop and was meant to pre-scope the content and discussions of the scoping workshop. Aim of the workshop was to further scope topics, ambitions and commitments of countries and regions, towards a possible ENT Flagship Call in spring 2015.
During two days the participants were immersed in several different settings to identify topics and interests of the countries and regions. The first day resulted in the identification of the following common building blocks:
Cross-border freight transport corridors
Urban / last mile logistics
Safety and security aspects
The second day session resulted in 2 interesting generic outcomes:
Overview of initial interests of countries and regions for the 6 identified building blocks. This overview will in a later stage be supplemented with initial indications of available budgets;
Schematic overview, systemising the cohesion of and relation between the different agreed building blocks, which will be useful for the classification of the call contents.
These outcomes of the scoping workshop will be incorporated in next versions of the position paper.
In a concluding tour-de-table all participating countries and regions expressed their interest and willingness to take part in the further process towards a potential ENT Flagship Call in spring 2015. A follow-up workshop is programmed for 8-9 October, at the Ministry of BMVIT in Vienna. The results of this workshop will be the input for the Guide for Applicants for the ENT Flagship Call 2015.
