The successful Stepping Stones midterm conference was held on 23rd and 24th January 2014 in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Constructive and critical discussion led to the production of a list of joint recommendations and an elaborate planning of activities and deadlines. To all participants: Thank you for your valuable contribution!
The conference was opened by Marien Bakker and Leendert de Die (Rijkswaterstaat), and started with a speeddating session. On the 23rd January 2014, Pieter Tanja (Royal Haskoning - DHV), Oliver Lah (Wuppertal Institute) and Wim Korver (Goudappel-Coffeng) elaborated on their first months of research activities and presented their preliminary research results. Afterwards, in three workshops, strenghts and challenges of the three researches were identified and the first exploration was made to find common ground for joint research outputs.
On the 24th January 2014, an elaborate discussion led to the writing of a first beginning of a set of common recommendations, and a constructive list of joint activities planned until July 2014.
